For all pre-teens and teens in the 6th and 7th, Catholic religious education is a requirement as it is the pathway to the Sacrament of Confirmation. Our EDGE Middle School Ministry provides a safe, fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about their faith, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way.

Requirements for the Sacrament include three consecutive years of Youth Ministry. 8th grade students that have been in Youth Ministry for their 6-7 grade will be completing their Sacrament of Confirmation preparation during their 8th grade year. We use the Life Teen program Purpose.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is traditionally received at or around age 14. Requirements for our Confirmation program include at least three consecutive years of Youth Ministry before one can participate in Confirmation. Classes run throughout the school year with Confirmation happening in April or May, as decided by the Diocese.

If your teen needs any of the Catholic Rites of Initiation – Baptism, First Communion, or Confirmation – and has not attended a yearly Faith Formation program, our Catholic Foundations classes have been created just for them! In this program, we work with all teens, grades 7 - 12, to learn their Catholic faith using the Catholic Bible for weekly group discussions.

HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP

Meets Wednesdays, 7:00 - 9:00 pm (summer hours)

Our Youth Group program is open to all teens in 9th-12th grade who have completed their Rites of Initiation within the Catholic Church (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation). Using the Life Teen program, we lead teenagers into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. Our program offers year-round weekly meetings; service opportunities at both, Holy Cross Church and in our local community; Catholic retreats; and summer camp!
